Deine Lakaien became a legend for people who like dark and melancholic electronic music.

Since 20 years, they are working together to create music: Ernst Horn, orchestra conductor and the singer Alexander Veljanov. Horn is composing sophisticated and catchy music arrangements and Veljanov is interpreting deep sensed philosophical lyrics with his characteristical voice. This musical combination got them up in the charts several times, just as other “underground” bands like Einstürzende Neubauten or Nick Cave. The growing success led them to play concerts not only in Germany, but also all over Europe. Thanks to a solid fan base and its constantly growing cult status, Deine Lakaien is not afraid to work on musical experiments again and again. In the mid-nineties the band established a new trend with the Acoustic tour. Voluminous ‘Wave’ music reduced to its essence, performed with piano and voice only. People were amazed and the opinion about modern ‘Wave’ music as a simple mode changed.

It was a perfect fit: organizing an orchestra tour and the band’s anniversary. After studio album songs were rearranged, Deine Lakaien rehearsed with the musicians of the symphony orchestra ‘Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt’ for the orchestra tour. It was a very interesting experience for Ernst Horn, “We took this great opportunity and did our very best“. Very important: they kept the focus on the musical realization and worked on a clearly different result than the typical „Classic meets Pop“ concept.

Also for the orchestra ‘Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt’, which already worked with Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) or Bobby McFerrin, this tour was a big challenge. Manager Dr. Ralph Ziegler confirmed that the music of Deine Lakaien is an intelligent and independent creation, which is not possible to split into serious and entertainment music. That is why he expected a challenging, ambitious and exciting work, where his orchestra would become a part of the songs’ sound characteristics.

Sold out venues, 13.000 tickets sold within 7 days, and after the last concert in Leipzig, the Deine Lakaien and Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt project is happy to announce that the orchestra tour was a huge success!
Every tour event the audience celebrated the band with thunderous applause and multiple standing ovations for perfect interplay between musicians and the outstanding musical performance.
The entire media reported enthusiastic and positive about the tour.

This event was not just interesting for hard-core fans; these 2 ½ hours’ concerts were a possibility for everybody to find out that there is more than just radio mainstream music and a chance to appreciate the magic atmosphere created by Deine Lakaien together with the orchestra.
